6 and 3 Year Stats

We made it to the doctor last week for the boys' 6 year and 3 year check-ups.  Brennan weighed 52 pounds (75%) and was 4 feet and a 1/2 inch tall (90%.)  Tyler was 35 pounds (75%) and was 3 feet 3 inches tall (75%.)  Neither boys were due for shots, so it was an uneventful visit!  Their growth and development all look normal.  Tyler is doing a TON of talking.  He is verbally expressive in a way that Brennan wasn't at this age, so it's quite fun - and sometimes exhausting - to hear him jabbering about all sorts of things.  Tyler has been potty trained since the winter, is riding a tricycle at lightening speed and is doing his best to swim underwater.

Here is Tyler zooming around on his big wheels.  He loves it and really goes very fast.  I wish he'd start pedaling the small bike with training wheels, but he claims it's too hard.  But, that's fine, for now, the big wheels is perfect!

A couple of weeks ago, Brennan started riding a two-wheeler!  I got a few videos on the first day (see clip below), but now, he rides so fast, it doesn't make for easy video-taping... especially when I am trying to keep up with him!  I've had to the put the air back in my bike tires and go riding with him in the evening when Brian gets home.  He zooms around the neighborhood quite well!  This summer, Brennan also learned how to swim/dive/jump into deep water!  The swim lessons he's been taking focus on technique, but not on treading water or swimming in water over his head.  He put it together this summer and can hold his own in the deep end.  He's been jumping off diving boards into 8 and 10 foot deep pools.  Today, he even got to go down the big slides at Volcano Island for the first time (unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me!)  Brennan has been doing workbooks this summer to keep up with his reading, writing and math.  School starts on September 2 and I hope he is ready to jump right in!
