2 Week Pediatrician Visit

We went to the pediatrician on Monday morning for Brennan's two week well baby check-up. He was expected to regain his birth weight (8 lbs) by this appointment and we were surprised to learn he had chunked up to 9 lbs 4 oz! He had gained almost 2 whole pounds since leaving the hospital!

I am finally posting pictures from Brennan's birth and our time at the hospital. I never really wrote about his birth, but basically, I had a feeling that I was going into labor on the night of July 5th and woke up around 5 am with contractions on Sunday morning, July 6th. We headed to the hospital around 8 AM and Brennan was born at 5:48 PM with no complications.

Grandma and Grandpa Pecorino are in town this week visiting. Brennan has been enjoying his time with them. We are going to the mall this afternoon. I'll write more about the visit over the weekend!

Nana & Mama's Visit

My mom and grandmother came for a visit this week, from Monday through Thursday. We had a really nice time together and they really enjoyed their time with Brennan. This was the first time that my grandmother had been to our house in Virginia, so I was glad that she got to see where we live. They helped with laundry, cleaning and did some great cooking! We took Brennan for a little outing to Michael's craft store and Target.

My mom brought down an album with my baby pictures. Brennan definitely does not look like me as a baby. I was a total chubby face and had more hair than he does. My mom "styled" my hair with the front sticking up... it looked like a faux-hawk. With that inspiration, we made a little mohawk on Brennan. I don't think he liked us laughing at him.

After all of the excitement of Nana and Mama visiting, my friend Garland came over on Friday with lunch from the Cheesecake Factory and Denise stopped by for a visit in the afternoon. All of the visitors wore Brennan out and by the time Brian got home from work, the two of them conked out on the couch! This is a pretty common sight at our house, it's one of their favorite pass times together!

Uncle Pete's Visit

My brother, Peter, came into town this weekend to meet Brennan. Peter brought Brennan his first Mets t-shirts, although they are a little big for now, he'll soon be in them! Peter was so good with Brennan, although he declined to help with diaper changes! I can't blame him for that! We gave Brennan a sponge bath this weekend and he didn't fight us at all. He likes to spend time out on the deck in the warm air. It's been a little hot to take him out on walks during the day, but our deck is covered and stays relatively cool, so we've been spending time sitting with him out there.

Brennan is a good eater and we are working on getting into a three hour routine that consists of eating, wake-time and nap-time. So far, we are doing okay, but are a little weak on the wake-time. He is definitely a little sleepy head.

Nana (my mom) and Mama (my grandmother) are flying in this morning and are staying until Thursday. Brian is out picking them up at the airport now. With all the extra helping hands, I should be able to spend a little more time on blog getting a new slide show posted sometime this week.

Welcome Brennan Kyle Pecorino

I've been meaning to get this posted for a few days now... sorry to keep you waiting. We welcomed the arrival of Brennan Kyle Pecorino on Sunday, July 6, 2008 at 5:48 PM, weighing 8 lbs, measuring 21 inches. We came home on Tuesday and are all doing well, adjusting to life as a threesome. Brennan has his days and nights a little mixed up, but we are working on trying to stay awake in the daytime! I will write more and post more pictures soon!
