Back From Mariah's Shower

I had a nice trip to LI this weekend. The Acela train is great, just 2 hours and 45 min between NYC and DC. Even with the switch at Penn Station to the LIRR, the total travel time was about the same as driving, but without the hassle. On Friday, I spend the afternoon at my grandparent's house and then we had dinner at my mom's and my Aunt Rosie joined us.

Mom and Debby came with me to Mariah's baby shower, which was a brunch, and I stayed afterwards to spend some extra time with Mariah. She is 2 weeks farther along than I am, but she is having twins, so she may end up delivering a few weeks earlier than expected. It was great to catch up and see each other. I knew it was going to be one of the last times that we would spend time together before the babies arrive, so I wanted to make the most of it... although that involved us plopping on the couch with our feet up and just talking for hours!

If I can get it to work, check out the slide show in the side bar with additional photos from the shower.

Nursery Stripes

I managed to get the stripes done on the two nursery walls this weekend! I painted the green and pink two weekends ago and did the blue and yellow this weekend. It took a lot of tape - check out Brian with the large ball of tape that was peeled off after painting! I tried to take a picture of the wall with the windows, which is the other wall with stripes, but the lighting wasn't right, so that'll be for another day... maybe in two weeks when I expect to get the other two walls painted. I'm heading to Mariah's baby shower this weekend, so I'll add some pictures and updates from that next week!

First Blog

Friends of ours started a blog when they were expecting so that their friends and family could see pictures of how the pregnancy was progressing and then later include photos of the baby. We thought it was a great idea since we don't live near family and have many out of town friends. Thanks Sara and Kenny - hope you don't mind we are copying you!

For those who don't know, we are expecting a baby boy at the end of June. I am 26 weeks along and feeling good. The nursery furniture is in and I am working hard on getting the nursery painted. I am doing stripes on two of the walls, and so far, it's looking good, but it's just taking a long time! I will add photos once that project is complete!

Here is a picture of me at 25 weeks.
