All Dressed Up

After a terrible, rainy day on Saturday, Sunday turned out to be beautiful. We made it to church for the second time since Brennan was born and we had him all spiffed up in an outfit that was a gift from friends of ours, Russell and Jessica. After church, Brennan and I had lunch with friends while Brian went to the gym and did food shopping (not bad, huh?!) We spent sometime outside on a blanket and the little guy was all smiles. He was rolling to his side a bit, but not rolling all the way over yet. We are looking forward to Friday, since I am off from work, Aunt Kerry and Uncle Philip are coming into town and its Halloween!

Rub-a-Dub-Dub Baby in the Tub

Debby and I couldn't get the video posted from Oktoberfest a few weeks ago. I think the video file was too large. This is my second attempt at posting a video. Hopefully, this time, it will work. We are having a rainy, windy, cold day, so we are taking it easy today and hanging out at home. When Brennan was just a few weeks old, I wasn't sure if he liked his bath, but now that he's a little older, he is always happy and kicking and splashing around. Thought you might like this video from this morning's bath.

Lil' Mets Fan

Grandma and Grandpa Pecorino came to visit this weekend. They bought Brennan a few cute outfits, including these Mets pajamas. The T-shirt is from Uncle Pete. My Uncle Dave got Brennan a Red Sox onesie when he was first born that we finally put on him today for a photo, so we needed to counter-balance the Boston influence with Mets gear, so Brian got decked out in his gear for a NY fan photo.

We spent a few hours in Leesburg yesterday at a street festival. This weekend was perfect fall weather. It was cool in the shade, but perfect in the sun. It was nice to get outside and enjoy some fresh air. I don't know why I didn't take any pictures while we were out. After being out, Brennan was beat and took a nice nap when we got home. He's been fighting some congestion, so he's been a little off his usual schedule. I'm just trying to keep his nose clear and have been running the humidifier at night. Luckily, he hasn't been running a fever, but the poor little guy is a little uncomfortable these days.

Car Accident

Last Tuesday, while driving to work, I was rear ended by another vehicle. Thankfully, Brennan wasn't with me. We were driving at extremely low speeds on the Dulles toll road and the impact didn't feel bad, but my car suffered a decent amount of damage to the rear driver side. It's in the shop now and the estimate came in at approximately $4000 worth of damage. The other driver was at fault and it's going against her insurance with Geico. Geico makes it really easy; they have a one stop shop for the insurance adjuster, repair shop and rental, but my car won't be ready until late next week. Poor Toro.

A Day with Daddy

Yesterday was Columbus Day and my office was open, but Brian had the day off, so Brennan spent the day with his daddy. I think Brian really enjoyed having the day the little guy. Brian gave Brennan a bath by himself for the first time and it went smoothly. It seemed like Brennan had fun splashing water out of the tub! The two of them met me for lunch and we took Brennan on a little tour of the office, where my coworkers were thrilled to see him. In the evening, I came home and found Brian teaching Brennan some strength training exercises... he had him working on a 3 point stance, like a football lineman. Based on this and the last post, can you tell what sport everyone is expecting Brennan to play?!

Weekend Fun with the Huszagh's

What a fun weekend! My parents, Debby and Debby's boyfriend, Ed, came for a visit. The weather was beautiful and we went to the Reston Town Center on Saturday afternoon for Oktoberfest. Brennan enjoyed hearing the traditional music. Debby got a great video of him laughing as we made him dance to the Chicken Dance. I need to get a copy of that video file so that I can post it on the blog.

On Saturday night, the guys watched the Penn State game. Ed brought Brennan a jersey, so he looked like a great little fan. He tried to cheer the game on with Brian and Ed.
Nana and Pop Pop (we are testing this name out for my dad) bought Brennan a new pair of shoes this weekend. You can see his cute little Robeez to the left with an octopus on them. The little green outfit was a gift from Jeff and Cindy Schulman, Alissa's parents.

New Milk Storage Solutions!

We were running out of space in our indoor freezer for my frozen milk and I was too nervous to put it in the garage after the major milk meltdown from August, so we went and bought a small chest freezer for my milk! Since it does not have a self defrost feature, I don't have to worry about keeping the milk from touching the sides of the freezer. And, the beauty of a freezer like this, is that the milk can be stored for up to 6 months.

Look What I Can Do!

It's really fun to see what Brennan is learning to do. Last week, he started to grab and hold onto things. Now, he loves to take rattles and little toys, hold them in both hands and put them in his mouth. Things with handles seem to be best since he can get a good grip. We have one little apple toy that he can get both hands around and it's so fun to see how happy it makes him when he is playing with it. Also, when I read to him, he has started really looking at the books and the pictures. It's fun to see him develop and start doing more things!

Enjoying the Weekend

This weekend's weather was beautiful. It was sunny and in the 70's, perfect to spend some time outside. We went to the outlets on Saturday to walk around and it was packed! Everyone must have been thinking the same thing. This morning, we met my college friend, Cindy, and her husband, Steve, for breakfast in Arlington. They live just outside of Boston and were in town for the weekend. It had been about two years since we last saw each other, so it was nice to catch up.

After getting some laundry done, Brian and I took Brennan out for a walk on the W&OD trail. It was good to get some exercise, but walking on that trail in Sterling is really unsatisfying! We normally hit the trail on bikes, which allows us to cover a good distance, but at a walking pace, you don't cover much ground and there isn't much to look at. It's like walking the Jersey Turnpike... a straight road with not much on either side! I think I'll stick to walking through neighborhoods from now on!
