End of Year Party

We are coming into the home stretch of Brennan's preschool days - next Thursday is graduation.  Two friends from class are going to be out of town next week, so we planned for the end of year party today.  It worked out great, since the Leesburg Animal Park was setting up a little petting zoo exhibit at the school today.  For the class party, we organized a bunch of outside stations for the kids to rotate through - potato sack races, egg/spoon races, a ring toss, corn hole, face painting & tattoos.  When we did the planning, we had field day in mind, but it wasn't quiet that organized!  It was fun though.
It was pretty hot.  Brennan and his buddy Michael were taking a little break in the shade.
After the field day events, we headed over to where the petting zoo was set-up.  Tyler and Brennan both wanted to go right into the pen.  Brennan was very curious about the animal with the hump.  The guy from the zoo said it was an overgrown muscle and that the hump was very soft/squishy to touch.
Tyler was fearless and enjoyed brushing the animals.
There were quite a few small animals to pet as well: a ferret, bunnies and ducks.
The ducks were very soft, but were quacking up a storm when the kids were petting them.
After the petting zoo, we headed back to Brennan's classroom for hand-washing and lunch!  Each kid got a metal from the field day events.
