Last week, it was Brennan's turn to bring the Show & Tell Bag home, which meant that he got to bring something in for show and tell and be the line leader the next day at school. He brought his frog puppet that croaks nursery rhymes. I was curious about how show and tell works for 3 year olds, so I asked the teacher. At show and tell time, the teacher brings out the bag and makes a big deal about what is inside. Then, the student gets to take out his item and show it off. The teacher asks questions and if appropriate, she asks the student if he would allow the other students to have a turn holding/playing with the item. It turns out that Brennan was willing to share, which I was glad to hear! As the line leader, Brennan was the official helper of the day. He got to hold the flag when they said the pledge of allegiance and hand out napkins at snack time. He got to be the first one to complete the art project and he walked at the head of the line when going out for recess. He came home so excited about being the line leader that he was extra helpful at home that afternoon. It was really cute. He keeps asking when he'll be the line leader again. They have 9 kids in the class and they rotate through, so it'll be his turn again later this month.
