What do 4 year old boys love? Bugs! Of course! Between gifts from grandma and grandpa for his birthday and his ring bearer gift from Aunt Debby and Uncle Joe, Brennan is decked out with equipment for catching critters. Brennan put his critter hunting skills to work this weekend! He tried used his bug sucking gun to catch a stink bug that was crawling on his screen, but it flew away before he got it.
Next up, was just a chance finding - a dead locust sitting on the sidewalk. Brennan was really excited to find such a huge insect. I didn't want to touch it, but he was unphased and picked it right up.
The locust now lives in his critter shack, on the deck. Here is a closer shot for your viewing pleasure. It's quite a bug. Although it seems to be dead, I noticed it's legs quivering/moving a little bit yesterday, so I am keeping an eye on that thing. Brennan also found a live worm that we now have living in a bucket of dirt, also on the deck.
Tyler is very determined to be a walker. He took a little walk with us in the neighborhood yesterday. We walked about 5-6 houses away and would have kept going, if Brennan hadn't come out with his bike, thus creating a need for us to pick up the pace. Tyler wanted to go up everyones' driveways and did not like being redirected to remain on the sidewalk.
Brennan enjoyed a little bike riding.
And, both boys had fun with the stomp rocket. Tyler kept trying to place the rocket on the launcher and Brennan kept trying to launch the rockets on the roof. It was a beautiful day and this temperate weather is supposed to last all week, so I can't wait for more outdoor fun in the days ahead.
