Weekend Away

We went to Pittsburgh this past weekend to visit our friends, the McGees, and to attend my friend, Paul's wedding. Sara and Kenny watched Brennan for us, while we were at the wedding on Saturday night. They have a daughter who is Brennan's age and a one year old son. Sara managed to catch a good photo of the three of them together.Brennan was both enamored and somewhat fearful of their two dogs, Ike and Reagan. He constantly wanted to be around them, but the minute they would get in his face, he would want them to go away. Here is Brennan chilling out on the dog pillow with Ike.

Sara bought Brennan and Meghan toddler baseball gloves and balls. Brian was working with Brennan, showing him how to use it. Last night, a few of the neighborhood boys were playing catch in the street out front of our house and Brennan was thrilled to run out with his glove on. They kindly engaged him in a little game of catch.

Here is Brian and I on our way out to the wedding. The power of the black dress against Brian's black pants in this photo, it's not overly obvious that I'm carrying a pretty large belly in this shot! The wedding was fun - the reception was in the rain forest of the Pittsburgh Aquarium, so it was pretty neat.

We drove home on Mother's Day and took our time getting back, with a long stop for lunch at Bob Evans... nothing fancy, but better than Sbarro at a rest stop! Brennan did great on the drive, although he did ask for a potty break, when there was no place to stop in sight. Thankfully, I had the little portable potty seat, so we pulled off the highway and set him up outside to take care of business. It was a worthy stop! He wasn't kidding when he said he had to go!

Brennan is going to be sooooo angry when he gets bigger and sees that photo of himself using the potty on the side of the road! :) It was a great visit. And I'm so glad that the glove is a hit!
