Baby's First Movie

Today, Brennan and I went to the movies with two mom friends and their babies. Cinema De Lux in Fairfax has a program called 'Baby Pictures' every Thursday at 10 AM. The movies are for the moms, but the atmosphere is baby friendly. They have changing pads set up along the front of the theater with disposal covers and wipes. They keep dim lighting on during the movie so that you can care for your child and they have a breakfast cart in the theater for those of us who didn't have a chance to grab coffee and would prefer to eat something other than popcorn in the morning. There were about 40 moms and babies there this week. Surprisingly, the intermittent crying didn't detract from the movie. It was Brennan's first movie going experience and we had a great time, followed by lunch at California Pizza Kitchen. This week's movie was Vicky Christina Barcelona and it was pretty good. I am looking forward to seeing which movie will be playing next week. This may become a weekly norm for our schedule!

I started going to a new mom's group held at Loudon Hospital two weeks ago. One of the girls from our Lamaze class also goes and I've met a few other nice women there. Yesterday, we went and Brennan was all dolled up in his safari outfit from Nana. However, after taking the picture, I had to leave the shoes at home because his big feet were squeezed into them. His toes were pressing against the tip of the shoe! It's hard to believe how big he is getting. I can't wait to see what he'll weigh at his two month appointment on September 8.

I was wondering if those Mom & Me movie times were fun. Thanks for posting about it. I may have to check one out near me. Looking forward to our visit! :)
