The Farm Museum

School was closed this Monday and Tuesday, so we used the time to get together with friends.  On Monday, two classmates of Brennan came over for a playdate.  Then, on Tuesday, we met my girlfriend Ashley at the Heritage Farm Museum with her kids.  This little museum is just ten minutes from our house - I can't believe we had never been before.  We had a great time.  Brennan loved picking eggs from the chicken coops.

He did a lot of shopping at the general store as well.  The shelves, register and post office are all original objects dating back to the late 1800s/early 1900s.  He and Tyler played with the food for sale and stuck a lot of it in the pot belly stove.  Perhaps, pretending to cook it?

The museum had these cute horses that kids could ride on, groom, and change the bridle.

There was also a cow that you could milk.

In addition to the General Store, they had a kitchen exhibit.  Tyler liked opening and closing the old fashion oven.  In the background, you can also see the old fashion sink with a manual water pump.

The boys also enjoyed riding around on the pedal tractors.  It was a fun way to spend the morning!  We will have to visit again in a couple of months!
